America is going the way of Rome

I worry about what this country will look like in 100 years. My kids or their kids won’t enjoy the same “America” we had, say 20 years ago. The overwhelmingly fast change in America is scary to watch, but, in my opinion, it portends a dark future and a likely end to an America founded on core tenets our founders derived this experiment, and the early settlers embraced as national and civic pride.

If the Democratic Party’s agenda is any guide, their latest tranche of mindboggling evil is remarkably troubling. There were 210 men and women in congress that recently voted against requiring doctors to provide medical care for a baby that survived an abortion. If our “representative government” reflects the same opinion as the 210 members that would want that baby to die on the abortion table, then 161 million American’s feel the same. There are many reasons why Rome fell. The deterioration of traditional values is widely argued as NOT a contributing factor more so than military, economic and corruption, but I disagree. When you have 161 Million of 331 Million people in this country cheering for the death of a baby, this country is going the way of Rome!

Rome was founded somewhere around 625 BC. Around 51 BC, Rome began expanding beyond the Peninsula, northern Tunisia and parts of Greece, more specifically the cities of Carthage in Tunisia and Corinth in Greece. For almost 600 years, Rome transformed from a “Period of Kings” to a Republic governed by elites and lived under a standardized code of laws called the “Twelve Tables”. During these years, Rome experienced prosperity and power, while also suffering some periods of chaos and civil war. Under the rule of Julius Caesar, Rome expanded beyond the Mediterranean by taking Gaul. After his assassination, Octavian and Mark Antony took Egypt and entered Rome into it’s final period of Imperialization and eventually the death of Rome around 476 AD.

For a thousand years, Rome existed, and it’s highest peak of expansion Rome’s enormous borders reached Asia, Africa and Europe. Rome would continue to exist under the Byzantine Empire until around the1400’s AD, but what was once the glory of Rome had largely been erased. After decades of war, government corruption and overspending to support their Imperial ambitions, a financial crisis that saw a 15,000% rise in inflation, a debasement of the Roman Denarius currency, oppressive taxation, a massive labor shortage (slaves), and, in my opinion, the collapse of Rome’s core social tenets and traditional values all contributed to the fall of Rome. Rome’s expansion attempted to force it’s laws, societal norms, and political influence into parts of the world where the people in those countries had no intention of assimilation into Rome. Asia, Germany, African nations, the barbarians, wanted nothing to do with Rome, and eventually Rome’s weakened state was overthrown by an invasion from the Germans.

Sound familiar?

Today in America, Democrat lawmakers and candidates that are so far left are now being replaced with candidates that are even further left. That’s how they operate, campaign on extremely liberal ideas, and then replace that candidate with a candidate that’s even more extreme to normalize previously endorsed brutal ideology. Men can be women, and women can be men. In fact, you don’t have to identify as any gender according to the Democrats. Dress in cartoonish outfits and shout over-sexualized fetishes, and take that ideology to the children – that’s America today. Over 48% of American’s want to normalize abortion as a right to choose, but shout down fellow American’s when they “choose” not to take a vaccine.

In America, our government openly discriminates against the white race. The Federal Government openly asserts the ideology of Imbram X. Kendi, as do many institutions in Higher Education and the Corporate world, “The only remedy to racist discrimination is antiracist discrimination. The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.” See also the New York Health Authority’s guidance to health care providers when administering care for COVID-19 suggesting “non-white race or Hispanic/Latino ethnicity should be considered a risk factor, as longstanding systemic health and social inequities have contributed to an increased risk of severe illness and death from COVID-19.” New York’s Department of Health emphasized this guidance and that health care providers should refer to these risk factors when administering life saving treatments in short supply. Their DOH, however, was forced to clarify that “no one, even white’s, would be denied care based on race.” The National Hockey League recently retracted an advertisement for their upcoming “Pathway to Hockey Summit” – a job fair to be held February 2nd in Florida. The advertisement posted on LinkedIn stated, “Participants must be 18 years of age or older, based in the U.S., and identify as female, Black, Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, and/or a person with a disability. Veterans are also welcome and encouraged to attend.” The Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Well, no one in government (see Welsley Public School District publishes intentions to create a safe space where “*Note: This is a safe space for our Asian/Asian-American and Students of Color, *not* for students who identify only as White,” or the Mayor of Chicago Lori Lightfoot’s exclusion of white’s for one-on-one interviews) higher education (see the case Students for Fair Admissions vs Harvard University), or the corporate world (NHL above) follow the law anymore, especially in terms of racial discrimination.

In Rome, obscene government spending, taxation, inflation, and the debasement of the Roman Denarius created such a financial crisis, citizens were forced to trade in a barter system as an alternative means to get the basics necessities of life. Today, the US Government is depriving it’s citizen’s, especially it’s most economically challenged citizen’s, the ability to buy the basic necessities of life by causing such massive inflation, due to many factors, but mainly obscene spending. Poor and middle class communities are struggling to afford to buy energy and food because of the US government’s egregious policies. The US government is so focused on climate change, that it would prefer to have it’s citizens spend enormous amounts of their family budget on energy, as well as, crush the energy industry overall, eliminating jobs with no alternative for those citizens but to drive electric cars (which are not affordable or available) or heat their homes. This same government is giving tax dollars to many foreign governments like Ukraine to fight wars that don’t improve the lives of it’s citizens and only puts them at risk from a retaliatory invasion from Russia. This government provides foreign assistance to promote gender equality and racial equity. Crime in America is out of control. State governments turn their eye on citizen’s that “smash and grab”, they eliminate prosecuting “lesser crimes”, and elect local District Attorney’s that promote defunding police and letting criminals escape prosecution.

Finally, this government is openly embracing “replacement theory” by leaving our southern border WIDE open! Like Rome before us, our government claims there is a labor shortage in this country, and it’s citizens are no longer reproducing above the replacement rate. They want more immigrants to come into this country illegally to join our labor force that they claim it’s “legal” citizens don’t want, and to replace the babies it’s “legal” citizens refuse to create. US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer stated, “Now more than ever, we’re short of workers,” he said. “We have a population that’s not reproducing on its own with the same level that it’s used to. The only way we’re going to have a great future in America is if we welcome and embrace immigrants.” Former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was quoted saying, “farmers in Florida need illegal immigrants “to pick the crops” as she called for “comprehensive immigration reform” and said there was a shortage of workers in the U.S.

Like Rome before us, we have lost the core tenets of what the founders wanted to build a country on, family, faith, and freedom. Government in this country is in every aspect of our lives – the shower head in your bathroom is regulated, as is the toilet you sit on everyday. As a people we are so heavily taxed, regulated, censored, and oppressed by government’s reach it’s becoming increasingly evident that ordinary citizens struggle to thrive as the founders planned. Like Rome, the assimilation of it’s massively diverse society into an America born out of faith and traditional values is no longer possible. The country was founded on the moral teaching of the Christian faith, yet crammed into a few thousand square miles is every conceivable religion from throughout the world. 331 Million people need a common core of beliefs and traditions that drive us to create an inclusive and flourishing society, yet day by day America is becoming increasingly more secular. In fact, Progressives in this country polled by Pew Research say that displaying “nationalism” or “patriotism” as a term has been co-opted to mean something extreme or racist.

Given this near incurable societal and political path, America is doomed to continued societal chaos. If open discrimination is a means to the leveling of classes, it will not work, and identity politics is by design engineered to create division and hate among classes, races, sexes, religions and people of other nations or immigrants. Every President since Calvin Coolidge in 1929 has added to the US National Debt. This current administration’s policies attacking the energy industry, out of control spending, creating inflation never before seen in this country, and the transportation industry suffering serious mismanagement are leading causes of America being on the brink of collapse.

American traditions and culture will endure, I have faith in that. Thanksgiving, The 4th of July celebrations, the traditions of Christmas and New Years, our fashions, our art, our music, our sports, these are the traditions in our culture that can survive, undivided. But if we’re not careful and don’t reign in government and all that it is apologizing for, traditional America, like Rome will only be relived in history.
